They make your clothes smell lovely and feel soft, but dryer sheets can come in handier than you might have thought. Here are seven alternative uses for those little scented sheets:

Get rid of static from clothes
If your favourite dress is full of static and sticking to all the wrong places, get a dryer sheet and rub it over the dress. For some reason this takes the static out of the material.

Keep rats and mice away
It must be the smell, but if you stuff some dryer sheets in the nooks and crannies of your house and garage, then this is said to keep rodents away.

Keep your feet smelling nice
If you have a problem with stinky feet, put a dryer sheet in each shoe. The next time you take your shoes off at your friend’s house, you won’t be so worried about the smell.

Car Freshener
Typical air fresheners can often be too much or simply get in the way when you’re driving. Stuff some dryer sheets under seats to keep your car smelling fresh and clean.

Keep bugs away
There’s nothing worse than being bitten by bugs at a barbeque. Rub a dryer sheet over your skin beforehand, and this should keep those pesky midgets at bay.

Clean your pots
For some reason, dryer sheets do a great job when it comes to cleaning pots. Pour some warm water into the pot, add a dryer sheet and the washing up should be a breeze.

Scrub the shower
Who knew some dryer sheets would be good for cleaning the scum off the shower? Try it on kitchen tiles too.
