John Lewis has finally released the 2019 Christmas advert and it may be their best one yet.

This year’s magical advert follows the story of Excitable Edgar, a little dragon who keeps finding himself in trouble.

Edgar gets a little overexcited about the festivities and manages to melt an ice rink and burn a Christmas tree in his village.

However, his best friend Ava comes to the rescue when she finds a way for Edgar to save Christmas.

Ava and Edgar put his fire-breathing skills to good use by getting to Edgar to create a special Christmas pudding for the village’s Christmas dinner.

Aldi is thrilled to announce that Kevin the Carrot is back! The nation’s favourite carrot will be returning to screens on Thursday, November 7 at 18.20pm on Virgin Media Two.

The 70-second film follows on from Aldi’s Christmas teaser which aired last Friday (November 1), in which Kevin finds himself in hot water with an angry gang of brussels sprouts. New character Russell Sprout, and his gang of ‘Leafy Blinders’, are boiling with rage about Kevin and his family of carrots stealing the show as the star Christmas vegetable.

This year’s advert begins with the sprouts gathering round Kevin to teach him a lesson. They’ve heard he’s planning on putting on a massive Christmas show and they want to put a stop to it. Luckily, Kevin manages to escape the sprouts’ clutches with the help of Tiny Tom and deliver his ‘Christmas Spectacular.’ Katie and the kids make a reappearance, along with a whole cast of new characters.

John Curtin, Group Buying Director of Aldi Ireland, said: “We’re all delighted to see Kevin back on our screens again, getting up to his usual tricks. Kevin’s popularity has grown steadily over the past three years, he’s becoming something of a festive season treasure! Kevin’s magical Big Top is the perfect environment to showcase the amazing quality of the Aldi Christmas range of food and drink this year.”

The nation first fell in love with Kevin in 2016 when he graced TV screens as part of Aldi’s Christmas campaign and there’s been an incredible response to Kevin since.

November is here which mean it is time to prepare yourself for an influx of festive adverts. Supermarket Christmas ads never fail to turn us into blubbering messes. The power they have over us is shocking and this year is no different.

Asda’s Christmas advert has just landed and we’re struggling to stop the tears from falling. The magical advert reminds us that our siblings are always there to bring joy into our lives, especially during the holidays.

The touching advert follows siblings Tilly and Jack who are trying to capture the magic of Christmas with the help of their late grandfather.

At the beginning of the ad, Tilly sees the Northern Lights which her grandfather once referred to as ‘Santa’s left over magic’.

The little girl creates a contraption using her grandfather’s old walking stick and a glass jar and manages to collect the leftover magic.

The brother and sister watch their hometown transform into a Christmas wonderland as the magic turns homes into gingerbread houses and people into snowmen.

However, little Tilly is heartbroken when the magic runs out, but her big brother comes to the rescue by bringing the magic of Christmas into their home.

Over the past few years, retailers have seriously upped their games when it come to Christmas advertising campaigns – and this year is no different.

Marks and Spencer has just released its 2017 Christmas advert, starring none other than everyone's favourite marmalade-loving Peruvian, Paddington Bear.

Focused around a case of mistaken identity, the heartwarming clip follows Paddington as he accompanies a burglar around his neighbourhood, after he mistakes him for the real Santa.

Together, the unlikely pair make their way across the London suburbs, returning gifts before morning strikes.

Between sleigh rides and mince pies, the duo eventually manage to deliver all the presents back to their rightful owners, and even manage to to witness the joy on the faces of one family as they discover what Santa has left.

In the end, the thief realises the error of his ways and graciously accepts Paddington's gift of a marmalade sandwich – (spoiler: this is when the tears roll in).

The 90-second advert coincides with the release of Paddington 2, which is set to hit Irish cinemas this Friday, November 10.
