If Jagged Little Pill is still one of the most played albums in your music collection, then Christmas is about to come early for you.

Alanis Morissette, the woman behind one of the most iconic albums of the 90s, has today announced she will be taking to the stage in both Dublin and Cork next summer.

The Canadian musician will perform in the People's Republic at Live at the Marquee on July 4 next year before taking to the stage in Dublin's Iveagh Gardens the following day.

With 14 Canadian Juno Awards, 7 Grammy Awards, 14 Grammy nominations, a Golden Globe nomination and sales of over 60 million albums worldwide, Alanis is easily one of the most revered and celebrated artists of her generation.

If you want to see the woman herself play live, you need to bring your A-Game on Monday December 18 at 9am when tickets go on sale with Ticketmaster.

May the odds be ever in your favour, ladies.

The Ironic singer and her husband, Mario Treadway, welcomed a daughter named Onyx Solace on Thursday, 23rd June.

A representative for the couple confirmed the wonderful news to People magazine today, before Alanis herself shared the tot’s very first photo to Instagram.

Taylor Swift's surprise guests during her 1989 World Tour have so far ranged from the predictable (Lorde, Karlie Kloss, Lena Dunham, Cara Delevingne) to the totally obscure (Matt LeBlanc, NBA player Kobe Bryant, OITNB's Uza Aduba, Joan Baez).

But whoever planned the guest list for Taylor's gig at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles last night deserves to take a bow, because we were totally blown away by all three.

After first welcoming Natalie Maines from the Dixie Chicks in front of an 18,000-strong crowd , Taylor was joined by none other than Ellen DeGeneres… who dressed up for the occasion in a sparkly ensemble VERY similar to Taylor's.

The chat show host joined Tay for a rendition of Style, complete with lots of sashaying and twirling in her sparkly tutu:

Work it, girl.

It was the third guest of the night that really sent the internet into meltdown, though, with the crowd roaring as Taylor brought singer Alanis Morissette on from backstage.

Yup, possibly the only singer out there who can beat Taylor in the "break-up song" stakes. The pair proceeded to serenade the crowd with Alanis' hit You Oughta Know:

Taylor seemed exhilarated after the show as she took to Instagram to thank Alanis, posting a picture of the pair and writing, "I don't know how to process how amazing she was. Just absolutely magnificent."

What a show!

Alanis Morissette is as well known for her trademark long, dark hair as she is for her music – but that didn’t stop her from chopping it all off and dying it blonde!

The singer posted a photo to her Instagram account which showed her hew new shoulder length blonde hair, a very different look from what we’re used to.

Her caption on the photo said that her new look was part of her “work addiction recovery”:

“New hair. girl needed to have a little fun 😉 ps– blondes are, in fact, treated differently. this is one of the many effects of work addiction recovery 🙂 #spontaneity #easybreezy #makeupforlosttime #healing (sic)”

We’re not sure what she meant exactly by this work addiction, though in a recent interview with Oprah Winfrey, she talked about how she had suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder, due to fame. When Oprah asked what she meant, Alanis replied:  “Traumatised because I think that on some level, becoming famous and wanting fame, there's some trauma.”

Despite the singer’s explanation, we’re still kind of confused… but we do love the hair! Her head must feel so light after chopping off all those inches. We hope she has lots of fun as a blonde, too!
