‘Sweating for the dress’ Fat shaming leggings aimed at brides

Woman feel societal pressure to slim down every day of the week, and that pressure can become intensified on the journey to walking down the aisle.

Losing weight for your wedding has become the norm, with bridal fitness classes and crash diets littering the internet.

Thankfully, the body positivity community has made gorgeous plus size brides more visible, but the pressure remains.

Leggings company You Statement have created some fat shaming gym clothes specifically geared towards brides to be.

The pants carry slogans designed to shame women into focusing on losing weight in the run up to their big day.

Statements like 'Training to be a trophy wife,' 'I wont quit unitl the dress fits,' and 'Gotta squat before I tie the knot,' are scrawled across the leggings.

Twitter users took to the social media site to express their indignation over the leggings.

'Ive just seen these leggings and URGH. No. Just no. Please do NOT buy into the thought that you HAVE to lose weight for your wedding,' said one.

We also have this pair which reads 'Unlike other girls, I can make boys smile with my pants ON.' which simply reeks of slut shaming rhetoric.
