
MTV have paid tribute following the sudden death of Catfish star
MTV have paid tribute to Ashley Sawyer, a young woman who appeared on their long-running show, Catfish, following her untimely death at the age of 23 this weekend.
Releasing a statement to PEOPLE, the music network expressed their deep regret at Ashley's tragic passing, saying: "MTV is deeply saddened to learn that Ashley Sawyer has passed away."
"Our condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends," they added of the young woman who appeared on the popular reality show in 2013.

Taking to Twitter to honour the late Ashley, Catfish presenter, Max Joseph, posted: "Shocked and saddened by the death of Ashley Sawyer. So sweet and kind. Thoughts and prayers go out to her family."
Speaking to MTV following her sister's death, Jessica Ross said: "I know she knows how much I loved her and she loved me, and I am so sad that she's gone."
"She was so funny, she could make me laugh on my absolute worst day," she continued. "She was just a really fun person to be around."
Ashley was living alone and struggling with addiction issues at the time of her passing, but the cause of her death is as yet unknown.
