Dublin Rainbow Run 5k 2015
June 20th 2015, 10am and 3pm
Where: Dún Laoghaire West Pier
Cost: Early Bird €26.76 pp (until May 20th), Full Price €29.99 pp
Colour dashes and rainbow runs are the latest fitness craze to hit Ireland, and this event promises to be one of the best. Don't forget your white t-shirt, as you'll be doused with coloured paint and powder as you run the 5k course, with DJs and musicians playing all the way through. More information here.
Dublin YogaHub Outdoor Yoga
Every Saturday at 11am until August 28th 2015
Where: Next to the bandstand at St Stephen's Green Park
Cost: Donation based
Start off the weekend in a mindful way with some outdoor yoga in the heart of Dublin city. The classes take place rain or shine – in the case of rain you'll be doing your poses inside the bandstand so don't worry about getting wet! All donations go to charity, with a different cause supported every weekend. More information here.
Cork City Marathon Team Relay
June 1st 2015
Begins: St. Patrick's Street
Cost: €117 per team
If you're not quite ready for a full marathon or half marathon, get a team together for the Cork City Marathon Relay. Your team can consist of anything from 2 to 5 members, with each member running a certain distance along the marathon course. The distance run by each person depends on the number of people in your team, but the minimum distance per person is 4.5 miles (7.2km). Find out more here.
Connemara Cycle 4 Light Festival
May 15th – 17th 2015
Connemara, Co. Galway
Cost: Main cycling event is €50, other events have varying costs
This annual festival is a partnership between Delphi Adventure Centre and the mental health charity Aware. A number of fun cycling events take place across the three days, with the main one being the Connemara Cycle on Saturday May 16th in the beautiful surrounds of the West of Ireland. There are two courses, one of 65km and one of 125km. More information here.
