
Friends star Matthew Perry rushed to hospital for emergency surgery
Friends star Matthew Perry was rushed to an LA hospital after suffering a ruptured bowel.
The actor, who played Chandler Bing in the hit series, had surgery to repair a gastrointestinal perforation, according to a statement released to People.

A gastrointestinal perforation occurs when a hole forms in either the stomach, bowel, or small intestine.
The 48-year-old, who has been open about his battle with alcohol and substance abuse, thanked fans for their support following surgery.

"Matthew Perry recently underwent surgery in an Los Angeles hospital to repair a gastrointestinal perforation," a spokesperson confirmed in statement.
"He is grateful for the concern and asks for continued privacy as he heals."
