Baring all! 5 Seconds of Summer STRIP in controversial interview

by

5 Seconds of Summer are getting a LOT of attention after they graced the cover of Rolling Stone in a divisive interview last week.

And while the cover itself is enough to turn heads (they did indeed STRIP), it seems that the content itself was more than enough to the band trending on Twitter on Friday.

The band discusses how they are often not taken seriously in the music industry.

"Seventy-five percent of our lives is proving we're a real band. We're getting good at it now. We don't want to just be, like, for girls. We want to be for everyone. That's the great mission that we have."

"I'm already seeing a few male fans start to pop up, and that's cool. If the Beatles and the Rolling Stones and all those guys can do it, we can do it, too.

Apart from comparing themselves to the Beatles, the quote that really got chins wagging was the bands revelation that they have hooked up with fans in the past.

"When you put four young dudes on a tour bus, playing theatres, then arenas, you're going to have sex with a lot of girls, I guess. We had a good time."

And while many took the interview in a bad light, it seems that the Australian's bands fandom had their back as #WeAreProudOfYou5SOS started to trend on Twitter.

And it even seems the band themselves were not totally pleased with their portrayal in the interview as displayed in Michael Clifford's tweets.

He even wrote in a since deleted tweet: "How about we talk about the music and the fans…the only reason a band is a band."
