This HANDBAG will give you a warning when you’re overspending
In the words of Jiminy Cricket, always let your conscience be your guide. But when our conscience tells us to save money, we often look the other way and buy the lovely shoes instead. Oops.
Well, now our handbags can be our guide, because students from the University of Dundee have invented a talking handbag that reprimands you when you shop too much.

Students Leanne Fischler, Kirsty Sneddon and Rebecca Smith created a handbag to highlight the habits of today's consumerism society.
The brown leather bag has a sensor inside of it that detects when your credit card is removed for use, and then hidden speakers allow the bag to talk to you and warn you against over-spending.
At first, the bag will question your purchase, asking something like, "Do you really need this?", but then it moves onto more harsh warnings (like your parents might give you), which get louder the longer your credit card is out of your bag.

“The project aims to make people consider what they already own and whether they need to buy more,” Leanne told The Courier.
But before you whip out your credit card to buy one of these babies (oh, the irony!), don't get your hopes up because they're not going into any sort of production.
“This is a one-off bag designed to create meaningful conversation – it’s not for selling.”

“I think our message has come across well and people have been able to see that design can be sued in the context of social improvement,” says Rebecca.
Now that's what you call retail therapy.
