The internet is freaking out over this ‘brutal’ PENGUIN love triangle

by

Love is a complicated game to play, and anyone who has ever been burned will be well able to sympathise with Mr Penguin, here.

A National Geographic video documenting an intense and ‘brutal’ penguin love triangle has hit the internet right in the feels.

The three-minute-long footage, posted to the programme’s Twitter page, shows what happened when a male penguin came home to find a ‘homewrecker’ making moves on his lady.

Standing to lose the mother of his children as well as his home, Mr Penguin attacks, and a fierce battle breaks out between himself and his love rival.

In the end, the men leave it up to the woman to choose her suitor of choice and, in a pretty devastating turn of events, she picks ‘the homewrecker’.

As disturbing as the video gets at times, the voiceover commentary manages to make it sound like a scene from The Jerry Springer Show – and it’s just as dramatic!

Try not feeling a pang of sympathy as the narrator says: “He makes one last plea to the female…but she’s got no time for losers.”

Needless to say, once the video went viral, the Twitter world had plenty to say about it – and the footage has proven to be nothing short of enthralling.

“I never thought I’d be invested in a penguin love triangle, but 2016 did it,” tweeted one viewer, while others admitted to crying over the video.

What a time to be alive.
