Performing at London’s iconic Wembley arena can be pretty nerve-wracking. Having your hair catch fire while playing at the world-famous location is the stuff of nightmares!

But for one 5 Second of Summer star, Michael Clifford, this was an unfortunate reality.

The 19-year-old rocker was caught in the line of fire on Saturday night when a pyrotechnic incident occurred that caused his head to be set alight mid-concert. Calum Hood, another member of the Australian band was also touched by the flames.

Luckily there didn’t seem to be any major injuries for the pair. Both returned to the stage just 24 hours later for another performance. That’s serious dedication.

Michael clearly had a lucky escape after he brushed up against a pyrotechnic display on stage. He headed to hospital shortly after the concert as the injuries needed some medical attention, but took to social media to assure his fans he was unharmed.

Despite his cheerful message and commitment to the band’s performance schedule, the teenager rocker was sporting some serious bandages on his face.

When spotted out celebrating the success of their tour with his band mates, Michael had some pretty painful looking red marks on his face. Calum was also spotted leaving the London club Mahiki but didn’t appear to have any injuries.

Niall Horan also sent the rocker a sweet message wishing him a speedy recovery.

The star stayed upbeat during the whole ordeal, regularly tweeting his excitement about the band’s tour and thanking his fans for all of their support.

That’s the spirit Michael!
