Jonathan Rhys Meyers and wife suffer heartbreaking miscarriage
Irish actor, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and his wife, Mara Lane, have spoken about a recent personal tragedy, revealing that they lost their second child to miscarriage.
Mara shared the news in an emotional Instagram post, explaining how she and Jonathan are “still working with coping skills.”
She wrote: “With much sadness, we open our hearts to share that J and I lost our second child, who was baking in the oven.”
She went on to say how Jonathan has been hit particularly hard by the news, and as a result, is currently struggling with depression and alcoholism.
“My husband is an Irishman who battles alcoholism and depression and drank between jobs to try to cope with the sadness of this news.”
Mara also expressed frustration with the Irish health system, revealing how her husband was denied medical help due to a two month waiting list.
The announcement comes after The Mirror reported that Jonathan had been spotted being cared for by authorities after he was found“staggering” around Dublin Airport on Saturday morning.
It's thought the Dublin native was due to catch a flight to Vancouver from Terminal One, however airport security stepped in before he could board the plane.
