Honey G

With every X Factor comes one token act which has the viewing public up in arms until they eventually get unceremoniously booted off the show.

In years gone by we've had Wagner, Stevi Richie and Jedward, and this year it's all about Honey G.

And while die-hard X Factor viewers are currently working on a petition to have her replaced by another hopeful, other members of the public are More concerned with her resemblance to a certain high-profile businesswoman and TV star.

Taking to Twitter to highlight the issue, social media users have been busy comparing snaps of Honey G with Karren Brady of The Apprentice.

1. There was this guy

2. And this guy

3. And what about this guy?

Apparently, though, not everyone is convinced, and have bigger suspicions about the aspiring rapper.

There was mayhem last weekend when Sharon Osbourne decided to save Honey G and bring her through to the live finals.

Now, we get that she's a laugh and she gives the show a bit of a Jedward-esque vibe, but we were really rooting for the Irish hopeful Janet Grogan.

Another favourite that failed to make it through was Samantha Atkinson, and her cousin is having absolutely none of it.

She wrote a petition to have Honey G removed and said: "Samantha Atkinson is my cousin and I and thousands of other X Factor viewers feel she was robbed of her place on live shows tonight when Sharon Osbourne gave Honey G one of them places in the final 12 (sic).

"Let's sign and show X Factor bosses and ITV that they have made a huge mistake."

The petition has raked up about 10,000 signatures, but we're sure Simon will do absolutely nothing about it.

What do you think of the decisions being made this year?

The gruelling six-chair challenge has always been a controversial more recent element of The X Factor

And now viewers are asking what the point of it is – given that on last night's show three of the four wildcards made it through to next week's live finals.

These contestants would not have been picked by their current mentors – Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh or Nicole Scherzinger.

However, they were given a wildcard pass by a rival judge – gifting them an invaluable second-chance stab at stardom.

On last night's airing, stunned viewers witnesses Simon putting through Samantha Lavery, 16, while Nicole gave Ryan Lawrie, 20, the nod. And Sharon happily endorsed Saara Aalto, 29.

In the aftermath, fans took to social media to express their frustrations: "SO F@@king predictable!!" wrote one, adding: "That's 3 Wild Card acts gone through so far. If they were that good, why didn't they give them a chair?"

Viewers seemed particularly irked by the inclusion of Honey G – yet another last-minute draft – in next week's live finals stage of the contest.

The rapper performed her own version of Gangsters Paradise by Coolio – but the rendition received a mixed response from those watching at home.

Furthermore, to add to the controversy, Honey G got through seemingly at the expense of the talented Samantha Atkinson. Indeed, Samantha's outraged cousin later kicked-off a petition to have her reinstated.

The online campaign has now garnered some 3,000 signatures.
