Christmas time

Our mammies are constantly warning us about leaving our drinks down on a night out.

The reminder about keeping an eye on your drinks and buying your own is one we will never get tired of as it's so important.

This is what Love Island's Savanna Darnell is warning her followers of.

Sadly, a Christmas night out did not go according to plan for the TV star.

On Instagram, she explained what had happened and issued a reminder to everyone.

"Just a quick update. I’m fine, thanks for everyone who’s asking. I went out the other night and my drink was spiked. I cannot remember one single thing from the night, my body couldn’t function properly, I collapsed and it was a horrendous experience."

"It’s a scary thing. So PLEASE make sure you always watch your drinks on nights out!!! Be careful and surround yourself with the right people."

We will definitely be tightening up our watch on our drinks.

We are glad that Savanna is feeling better and has recovered from a very scary experience.

If you’ve ever wondered why people enjoy the taste of cinnamon a lot more around Christmas time, then you might just be intrigued by what we have to share.

A new study discovered that the people enjoy certain foods a lot more when they are accompanied by sounds or noises which match the occasion.

When volunteers were given a range of odours accompanied by a variety of sounds, they found that cinnamon and cloves – spices used in mulled wine – tasted much nicer when Christmas carols were playing.

When retested with pop songs rather than Christmas carols, neither spice was marked as more pleasant.

The study states: “Certain odours can be matched with specific sounds based on previous experience. The congruent sounds increase odour pleasantness significantly more than incongruent sounds.”

Who ever would have guessed!
