Just a week after Fifth Harmony's Lauren Jauregui hit the headlines for drug possession, the band has been dealt a further blow after popular member Camila Cabello announced she had quit the group.

In a move which has left Harmonizers in a state of shock today, the singer decided to walk out… without telling her bandmates.

Sounding pretty diplomatic despite being informed of Camila's decision through her representatives, the remaining girls wished their former bandmate well.

Releasing a statement via social media just hours after they performed together in Florida, Fifth Harmony said: "After 4 and a half years of being together, we have been informed via her representatives that Camila has decided to leave Fifth Harmony. We wish her well."

"You Harmonizers have been there with us since the beginning, you’ve supported us, you’ve rejoiced and cried with us, you’ve grown with us, and with your love and support, we will continue on," they added.

In a Twitter post which has been liked more than 60,000 times since its upload four hours ago, they continued: "Thta being said, we are excited to announce that we will be moving forward with the four of us – Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui for our fans."

Sounding pretty certain that Camila's departure would not signal the end for the group, they continued: "We are four strong, committed women who will continue with Fifth Harmony as well as our solo endeavours."

"We are excited for our future, and we can't wait for what the new year brings, Harmonizers we are in this together. We love you with all of our hearts."

Fans of the girl group wasted no time insisting the band would be better without Camila, with one writing: "5h is better without Camila*"

"It's okay 5 seconds of summer exist and they only have 4 seconds out of 5," added another.

Well, that's it girls – it's the end of an era.
