Ed Sheeran lifts the lid on his personal life. Finally!

Only days ago we were getting ready to hear Ed Sheeran’s latest musical wonder inspired by his new Irish love. As it turns out, we may be waiting for quite a while longer.

Ed and Fade Street cast member Louise Johnston have been friends for years and rumours began circulating that Ed had finally got himself out of the friend zone. A source had told the Sunday Independent that the pair were “constantly in touch”.

However, it would seem that the pair are not going to be the next celebrity couple on the scene. Ed spoke with Capital London’s Breakfast Show radio today and joked his love life was “non-existent”.

After 24-year old Louise had shared photos of the pair hanging out on her Instagram account, speculation went into over drive that they were officially an item.

Ed has put a stop to those rumours. Saying he hasn’t been involved romantically with anyone since he split from Athina Andrelos in March.

The two hosts tried to pry a little further into the Bloodstream singer’s love life and Ed explained:

“My relationship ended and then the day after it ended I was in the Middle East, Asia, South America, New Zealand – I was just gone and in my mind I had no time to settle with it.”

Saying that since the break-up he hasn’t been paying much attention to the ladies as he’s focused on his work he also added “I don’t really have a personal life.”

We’re inclined to believe him considering tonight marks the first of three sold-out gigs for Ed at Wembley Stadium as he continues his X album tour.

Playing to a crowd of almost 100,000 people does sound like a lot of work. Not to worry though, Ed has admitted he’s nervous ahead of the big gigs, but his pal Elton John was able to give him some advice.

He assured fans he’ll be playing all his big hits after getting some guidance from megastar Elton, as you do.
