Dublin bus will stop refunding people who overpay in cash
If you haven't hopped on board the Leap Card movement, you may want to do it before September 9.
Dublin Bus has announced that they will no longer refund passengers who pay extra in cash.
Say goodbye to the days of receiving a ‘refund due’ receipt when you overpay for your journey.

In its place, consumers will be issued an ‘extra payment’ receipt that is non-redeemable.
The money from your overpaid fare will now go towards improving "Dublin Bus services".
Additionally, in a statement, the bus company said it will also fund the Community Spirit Awards.
It is "an initiative that has helped almost 1,800 voluntary groups to date through unclaimed passenger change."

Removing the direct refunds to passengers comes in a bid to start a cashless system on all buses.
Dublin Bus are encouraging people to invest in Leap Cards which makes your fares at least 20 percent cheaper than paying in cash.
If you have any 'refund due' receipts you can still trek to Dublin Bus' Head Office in O’Connell Street to get your change back.
