Cancelled! Some SERIOUSLY good news for Luas users this weekend

If you were anticipating a hellish weekend ahead on account of the upcoming Luas strikes, you can breathe a sigh of relief…for now, anyway.

According to emerging reports, Luas drivers have cancelled their proposed 48-hour strike which was due to take place on the 23rd and 24th of this month.

It is understood that the cancellation is to allow for the trade union to 'create space' for further talks between ticket inspectors and control room staff, both of whom are set to discuss pay and conditions with Transdev tomorrow. 

With SIPTU last week suggesting that an all-out strike may be a possibility. the development will come as very welcome news for Luas users across the city.
