This woman is an absolute PRO at facepainting, and Insta is in AWE

After training for three years as a pre-school teacher, Mimi Choi decided to pack in her day job and focus on her passion – make up artistry.

And if her Instagram is anything to go by, the Vancouver-based woman made the right decision.

Mimi's intricate designs, which really have to be seen to be believed, have captivated social media users, with the 31-year-old amassing more than 90,000 followers online.

Commenting on her decision to change careers, Mimi said according to The Metro. ‘I felt like my creativity was suppressed. I enjoyed teaching but I wasn’t completely happy. I needed a new challenge."

"I’ve always been arty and had done bridal makeup before, which people really liked I’d not done anything as crazy as the work I do now, though," she added.

 

Front view of the multiple-eye/lips #makeup illusion I did on Emma for Halloween.She requested one of the first multiple-eye looks that I've ever done, but I couldn't stand doing the exact same thing again so I had to add a bit to it. Honestly I'm surprised that people still seem to like this kind of illusion that I do, even though it's been recreated over and over again since I did my first one a year ago. It's crazy how this kind of makeup illusion has spread and has somehow become a norm. I still enjoy painting this very much but I personally don't find this trippy at all anymore… Next time I'm doing these, I'll make sure to incorporate brand new elements that will stimulate my brain again!#MIMLESHALLOWEEN

 Mimi often uses herself as a guinea pig, saying: "My face is a blank canvas where I can practice my art."

"I take my inspiration from everywhere. If a woman is wearing a coat with a funky pattern on it, I think I’ll do that on my face. I try to find beauty in everything."

After attempting a few designs, Mimi showed them to her family who encouraged her to pursue the interest, and the former teacher is now a go-to Instagram personality among the creative community.
 

 

"This is not makeup, this is sorcery….wow" wrote one of Mimi's followers recently while another added: "Your talent is on another level."

"I didn't think it could get any better, but it did!" gushed another.
