So if you haven't already tucked into your seventh slice of Nutella-laden toast, here's 9 ways you know you are unashamedly a total Nutella addict.

1) You have convinced yourself that Nutella is perfectly healthy

It is made from nuts so it simply has to be good for you… right?

2) You have to restrict your self from buying the jumbo size jars

'What do you mean it comes in a JUMBO size???'

3) You love Nutella so much that you just eat it with a spoon

No bread required

4) You have tried Nutella on one too many things that it just shouldn't go on

Nutella on pizza is totally a thing

5) You will go out of your way to go to cafes that serve Nutella-based treats and you don't care who knows

One Nutella milkshake with a Nutella cupcake and a side of Nutella ice-cream, thanks.

6) Dropping a jar of Nutella is akin to losing a close, childhood friend

Seriously, the worst days ever

7) You use every utensil and body part to ensure each Nutella jar is scrubbed clean

Because not a drop should go to waste

Today is World Nutella Day – yes, Nutella has its own celebration day. Why wouldn't it? It's delicious, after all!

The famous chocolate-hazelnut spread isn't just great on bread, pancakes and crepes though – it can be used as a delicious addition to a whole variety of treats.

Here are five unusual ways to try Nutella, as if you needed an excuse to eat more of it!

1. Nutella Cheesecake
Forget vanilla or plain old chocolate, a Nutella flavoured cheesecake is the way to go. Using equal parts Nutella and cream cheese for your cheesecake filling will give you a delicious, decadent and creamy cake.

2. Breakfast Banana-Nutella Smoothie
Add some sweetness to your mornings with this tasty smoothie. Simply blend one banana, 80g greek yoghurt, 3 tablespoons of porridge oats, 2 tablespoons Nutella and a handful of ice cubes together until smooth and you're done!

3. Nutella ice pops
Not just for kids! Freeze Nutella and milk in popsicle moulds for at least 3 hours for a moreish summer treat. For something that could loosely be considered breakfast, replace the milk with yoghurt and top the mix with granola before freezing. YUM.

4. Nutella Swirl Banana Bread
If you're looking to use up overripe bananas, whip up some banana bread and swirl a few tablespoons of Nutella into the batter before baking.
