If someone had told us that there would come a day when a selection of wedding cakes would make us clasp our hands and squeal in glee, we'd have given them a wide berth.

And then we stumbled upon these Disney-inspired gems.

A sugary ode to some of our favourite characters and storylines, these cakes are the brainchild of couples who decided to bring some extra magic to their big day, and we're here for it.

From Mickie and Minnie to Belle and her beloved Beast, these cakes are a thing of beauty.

Here is a cake I made for a wedding back in March. The bride was a big Disney fan and so wanted to incorporate something Disney into her wedding.. The chairs on top of this cake are made from sugar and are modelled on Carl and Ellie's chairs from the film 'Up'. Such a sweet film if you haven't seen it! First things first – CONGRATS, you're getting married.

There is a time-honoured tradition that brides should incorporate "something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue" into their wedding ensemble, but it can be tricky to include all these factors.

This tradition was once thought give the bride good luck on her wedding day, but also help to guarantee fertility and prosperity. However, nowadays it is simply a sweet ritual you can incorporate into your special event in many ways, from accessories to delicious treat.
