Irish model and DJ Vogue Willams seems to have had a very difficult time of it during filming for a new jungle survival reality show.

Vogue travelled to the Central American rainforest to take part in Bear Grylls' new show, Mission Survive, which kicks off later this month on ITV, and from the first promo clip it's clear she really struggled to cope at times.

The model will appear on the show, filmed over the course of 12 days, along with singer Jamelia, actor Laurence Fox, Max George of The Wanted, ex-England rugby player Mike Tindall and Olympic athlete Dame Kelly Holmes.

In the one-minute clip, the participants can be seen jumping into murky waters from their helicopter, scrambling up mud hills, and – in Vogue's case – refusing to eat live insects.

The model sounds panicked as she says "I don't want to eat it," while struggling not to cry.

While it certainly seems like it was a tough ordeal, not that she's back home Vogue is beginning to see the funny side of things. The model posted a screenshot from the promo clip of her with mud caked on her face along with the caption, "I love when my friends send me pics like this!!! Thanks @mrdanielkelly crying with mud on my face, never looked better! #missionsurvive"

The mastermind behind the show, Bear Grylls himself, admitted the whole 12-day experience was very hard on everyone but said he wouldn't have had it any other way.

"It was without doubt a tough expedition, but also a very life-enhancing adventure for everyone involved…I would set them daily survival missions and would then regularly back away, leaving them to their own devices, so that they would learn by doing it and making mistakes. That's the source of all genuine growth in a survivor."

Well done Vogue on coming out the other side – we can't wait to see the show!
