If you’ve ever spotted someone on the street and wondered where you could get a dress just like their’s, Kate Bosworth’s app is the thing you need.

All you have to do is snap a photo of the thing you’re looking for, and the app, called Style Thief, will do an image search online to see where it’s available to buy. In order to make money, Style Thief will then receive a commission of the retail sales.

Bosworth explained her idea: “Everyone has fashion envy. Everyone can relate to that feeling of looking at an editorial, for example – or a friend, or the runway, for that matter – wanting to steal something exactly as you’re seeing it, or something similar.”

There are a few other similar apps around, but none that have really taken the world by storm, so Kate has plenty of opportunity to cause a splash.

We think the idea sounds great, though it might be a tad awkward if we start snapping photos of strangers on the street!
