Star Wars: Episode VII

We might have another year to go, but that doesn't mean we can't get excited about the release of Star Wars: Episode VII- The Force Awakens, right?

If you're as excited for George Lucas' latest creation as we are, then feast your eyes on the first official trailer. Oh, they really know how to reel us in!

Just another 12 months left, girls! We can do this.

It’s just been revealed that actor Harrison Ford was airlifted to hospital today after suffering injuries on the set of the latest Star Wars film.

Apparently the 71-year old actor was crushed after a hydraulic door fell and hit him while he was filming in Pinewood studios in Buckinghamshire.

Disney released a statement this evening about Harrison’s injuries.

“Harrison Ford sustained an ankle injury during filming today on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. He was taken to a local hospital and is receiving care. Shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates.”

Harrison is still believed to be in hospital awaiting results of further injuries to his chest, while Health and Safety Executives are believed to be investigating the incident.

We wish Harrison a speedy recovery and hope he’s back to filming soon.

Great news for Star Wars fans as its been revealed that Oscar winning star, Lupita Nyong’o and Game of Thrones actress, Gwendoline Christie have both been cast in Star Wars: Episode VII.

Lucasfilm president, Kathleen Kennedy revealed her excitement about the new casting in a statement yesterday.

“I could not be more excited about Lupita and Gwendoline joining the cast of Episode VII. It’s thrilling to see this extraordinarily talented ensemble taking shape.”

Production for the latest Star Wars instalment has already begun, with reports suggesting that cast and director J.J. Abrams have already flown out to Abu Dhabi to begin filming.

The new Star Wars film already includes a pretty impressive cast from original Star Wars actors including:  Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Bakeras.

There are also some famous newcomers from John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis and Irish actor, Domhnall Gleeson.
