Friends of model Gigi Hadid have spoken out in support of her after a leaked video sparked allegations the model had been taking cocaine in public.

A US gossip site published a story speculating that Gigi had been snorting cocaine off a bar counter at a Victoria's Secret party. The claims stemmed from a Snapchat video posted by Gigi's boyfriend Cody Simpson, which showed the model briefly leaning over the bar.

The model slammed the claims earlier this week, calling the gossip site, OceanUp, "the pits of the world" on Twitter and adding, "If you actually watch the video there is nothing on the counter 0.5 secs before you see that image. It's not only impossible but insane to me."

Gigi took to Twitter again today to further drive home the point that she does not take drugs.  "I lead a healthy life. I'm a good, hardworking, responsible person," she wrote.

"If you don't want to give me the benefit of the doubt that's fine but I know that this situation will not change my reputation within my industry bc the people that know & work w/me know that the person some are trying to make me out to be is NOT who I am or who I'll ever be. #HugsNotDrugs."

Gigi's fellow Victoria's Secret model Lily Aldridge offered her support on Twitter, writing, "Can't sit back and see people hurting my lil sista @GiGiHadid! She is one of the sweetest, kindest, most genuine souls I've ever met! @GiGiHadid you're my girl!!! And I know how responsible and respectful you are!!! #ClassAct."

Sports Illustrated managing editor MJ Day, who has worked extensively with Gigi, also stood up for the model on Instagram, posting a picture of the pair together with the message, "I have many times said if I had a daughter I would hope she she would turn out to be the wonderful human being Gigi is. I KNOW Gigi and she has never disappointed me or this franchise. I call bullshit on everything else. Love you boo."
