We all know Disney’s messages can sometimes be a bit questionable, such as “you need a man to live happily ever after” and “sometimes Stockholm syndrome actually works out”, but there are some important things we can learn from our favourite movies.

1.Don’t run away from your problems

‘Hakuna Matata’ otherwise known as ‘procrastination’ is a temporary solution. You’ll sooner or later have to face reality.

“The past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it.” — Rafiki, (The monkey,The Lion King )

2. Be your own hero

Screw the knight in shining armor. Buy yourself a sparkly dress and get over it.

3. Hard work is necessary

Menial jobs aren’t a waste of your time. You learn patience, endurance, people skills, humility, and you can later utilise those qualities to succeed.

4. Be careful who you take advice from

With social media the lines of friendship are blurred. If you take everyone’s opinion on board it’ll seriously cloud your judgement.

5. Leave your comfort zone

Your twenties are the best time to go travel and explore. You haven’t lived yet if you haven’t taken risks.

“I’ve been looking out of a window for eighteen years, dreaming about what I might feel like when those lights rise in the sky.” ~ Tangled

6. Laugh

In a world of contradictions you need a sense of humor. *Ohh life…you hilarious son of a bitch you*

7. Break some rules

We’re not condoning anything illegal but some rules just need to be broken. *Opens up the can of worms and hides under table*

“The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all.” — Emperor, Mulan

8. Be yourself

It’s easy. Just be you.

9. Don’t Settle

Don’t get a boyfriend for the sake of it. Don’t settle for anything less than you deserve.

10. Never give up

Walt Disney built an entire empire with his pencil. Don’t just follow your dreams, chase them.
