Given the sheer amount of press coverage – not to mention incredulity – surrounding Harvey Weinstein's alleged crimes in recent weeks, you'd be forgiven for thinking that he was the only Hollywood heavy-hitter to ever find himself the centre of such allegations.

Keen to remind the public that this isn't the case, movie producer, Judd Apatow, made reference to actor and director Woody Allen's past in a recent tweet which has sparked intense discussion online in recent days.

Allegations surrounding sexual abuse and misconduct have dogged Allen for almost three decades while the storyline of his latest movie has sparked concern among many – something Judd address directly on social media.

"It is sad that he is obsessed with all these young actresses and none of them run when offered the job," Judd wrote while sharing an article which focussed on the unsettling nature of Allen's latest movie.

Agreeing with 49-year-old producer, one Twitter user wrote: "Seriously, anyone who supports Allen, Roman Polanski, and others like them are the problem."

"I think the first thing to question is why is the industry still supporting him? He goes on like nothing happened," added another.

While agreeing with Judd, one of his followers did question why he believes the responsibility lies at the feet of women, asking: "Why do men continue to work with him?"

"Seriously, men & women know he’s a predator yet his name & fame perpetuate a dangerous reality for all."

Kate Winslet recently came in for criticism when she sidestepped a question relating to Allen's past

"As the actor in the film, you just have to step away and say, I don’t know anything, really, and whether any of it is true or false. Having thought it all through, you put it to one side and just work with the person," she reasoned.

Judd's tweet has been likes more than 2,000 time since its upload.

When one of the best comedians to grace our screens in years unites with the director of films like Knocked Up and The 40-Year-Old Virgin, you just know the result is going to be spectacular.

Amy Schumer’s debut film Trainwreck hit Irish cinemas last week, and so far it’s gotten rave reviews. The comedy, a (relatively) autobiographical tale of a woman who has always forced herself to believe that monogamy is unrealistic, is a witty, sharp and no-bullsh*t look at what it’s like to be a female in today’s world.

The film’s director Judd Apatow and cast members Amy Schumer, BIll Hader and Vanessa Bayer hit Ireland last week for the final stop on their global press tour.

As well as a sit-down chat between Amy, Judd and Ireland’s beloved Panti Bliss, Trainwreck‘s Irish premiere took place at Dublin’s Savoy Cinema last Wednesday, in association with the Dublin International Film Festival.

S! TV were there to get in on the action and to catch up with the cast and crew.

The 14th Dublin International Film Festival will take place from February 18th – 28th, 2016.

Amy Schumer is apparently making the most of her time here in Ireland.

The Trainwreck star was spotted out and about with the film’s director Judd Apatow and a certain musical star.

Amy and Judd joined forces with Glen Hansard in Grogans pub on Castle Street in Dublin to experience one of our nation’s favourite past times. A sing-song.

The tunes covered include The Aul Triangle, always a classic. That is not all thought, because from the looks of things the trio may just have crashed a wedding while out on their jaunt.

Last night Amy and Judd were at the O’Reilly Theatre in Dublin for a Q&A with Panti Bliss. While there, Amy admitted her adoration for Irish comedian Meave Higgins.

"Maeve Higgins, I'm sorry, but we're keeping her," she said. "And we'll send her back for holidays."

Tonight the stars will be at Dublin’s Savoy Cinema for the Irish premiere of the film, if you don’t think you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of Amy then make sure you watch this clip from yesterday’s antics. It is amazing.

One of Hollywood’s funniest ladies is coming to visit us! Hurray! Yes, we’re all very excited to hear that Amy Schumer will be appearing at the Dublin International Film Festival.

Director-producer of her newest film Trainwreck, Judd Apatow and co-star Bill Hader are also going to be in attendance at the special screening.

Amy stars in the film as a woman who lives her life with no apologies, even when she maybe should.

A sort of living embodiment of the ‘sorry not sorry’ phrase that comes up quite a lot these days. Her character, called Amy, is a described as a something of a pessimist when it comes to romance until she meets a sports doctor, played by Bill Hader.

Grainne Humphreys, director of the festival said about the appearance: “2015 is proving to be the year of Amy Schumer, a pistol smart satirist, a Facebook feminist, a sassy screenwriter who has film friends in all the right places.

She has clambered over her fellow comedic peers to ascend to the throne of this year's Comic Most Wanted.”

Amy, 34, not only stars in the film but is responsible for creating her character and writing the screenplay. In 2011 she got a lot of attention for her Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen and became a household name in the US shortly after.

Working with Judd Apatow has turned out quite well for a lot of other famous faces, including fellow funny woman Lena Dunham. Judd is known for introducing new comedy voices into mainstream film.

While Amy doesn’t seem to need much introduction these days, we’re excited to see the trio all together.

The Irish premiere for Trainwreck is August 14 with the Dublin International Film Festival 2016 already being announced to take place February 18-28.
