Disney has finally found their Prince Eric!

The live-action remake of The Little Mermaid has been looking for their perfect Prince Eric for what feels like forever and they have finally cast Jonah Hauer-King as the dashing sailor.

According to Deadline, the actor, who has starred in Little Women and World On Fire, won the role over Cameron Cuffe.

Apparently it was a close call for the casting director but the British actor pipped Cameron to the post.

Harry Styles was also considered for the role but the Lights Up singer declined the part in the live-action movie because he is focusing on his music career.

The musician spoke to Capital Breakfast about why he didn’t accept the part, “I had, you know, a meeting with Rob Marshall the director, who is the most wonderful man, he’s great. And it was just, honestly, it was just a few things.”

“I think it’s gonna be amazing, obviously it’s an amazing film,” the Sign of the Times singer added.

Jonah will star alongside the stunning Halle Bailey, who will play Ariel in the Disney movie.

The movie will be produced and directed by Rob Marshall. Lin-Manuel Miranda, John DeLuca and Marc Platt will also produce.

Melissa McCarthy will reportedly star as Ursula, Awkwafina as Scuttle and Jacob Tremblay as Flounder.

The team have yet to cast King Triton but Javier Bardem is a contender.

The Little Mermaid remake is certainly going to be better than we expected thanks to this stellar cast.
