house of cards

Netflix has come up with some BRILLIANT TV shows over the past few years, but House of Cards is one of those that just sucks us in every damn time.

The hotly awaited fourth season is on the way to us very soon which is getting us excited to what dirty work is coming up next.

Kevin Spacey playing Frank Underwood is one of those characters we love and hate, and he's obviously going to come back with a bang since he's seen in the trailer digging something up in the ground – well he's not the one digging, obvz, instead Doug is doing all the suspicious work like we'd expect.

We'll admit that this trailer is a bit on the short side but with the show coming to us this March, we're already getting ready for some binge-watching.

January is already grim enough without lamenting the terrible state of your love life/your health/your bank account.

This month, we give you full permission to wrap yourself in a duvet and take permanent residence on the couch with your new boyf, Netflix.

It'll keep you company, distract you from pesky winter colds and flu and just generally be an all-round good guy.

As for finding Mr. Right, you can worry about that in February.

1. When you're dying and can't form words, it will sit in silence with you

2. Need to lie on the couch without moving a muscle? Yup, that's okay too

3. Netflix will never wake you in the middle of the night by snoring

4. Like time with a good boyfriend, four hours with your new bae will pass without you even noticing

5. Your duvet days will ALWAYS feel productive, but you don't have to make conversation with anyone

6. Netflix wouldn't DARE suggest you "change out of the pyjamas you've been wearing for the last 72 hours"

7. It doesn't nag you to get out of bed – you can stay in bed all day if you want to

8. It respects your life choices – even if those choices involve watching six episodes of Pretty Little Liars in a row

9. It'll NEVER make you watch Premier League when you really want to be watching House Of Cards

If you're looking for some Netflix inspo, our duvet day faves have to be Clueless and Ferris Bueller's Day Off, both of which are available to stream now.

Plus, there's always the entire back catalogue of House of Cards, Pretty Little Liars, Orange Is The New Black and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt to keep you occupied…

The third season of the Emmy award-winning series Orange Is The New Black has now been released on Netflix – a full six hours ahead of schedule.

The uproarious drama was set to be shared on the streaming site this evening, but Netflix delighted OITNB fans this morning when it announced over Twitter that the series was live.

Safe to say we know what we’ll be doing this weekend!

This dark and gritty yet hilariously real drama-comedy has proved a huge hit with audiences since being unveiled two years ago.

So what's its sercret? Firstly, it is one of very few shows that competes at the top of the ‘quality TV’ genre that has a cast made up of almost entirely women.

While many shows have strong leading female women (think House Of Cards and Breaking Bad) that are the driving forces in the show, they still, to a certain extent, are there to play counterpart to the predominantly male leads.

While Claire Underwood and Skyler White are undoubtedly the portrayal of sound reason and logic in their respective shows, it is still the characters played by Kevin Spacey and Bryan Cranston that take the lead.

But not in Orange is the New Black. With a cast that boasts a host of totally diverse women, and characters with real depth, the show brings a sense of brutal realism to its audience.

The show is based on the 2010 memoir of Piper Kerman, whose seemingly perfect middle-class life was interrupted when she had to serve a 12-month prison sentence for drug offences that were committed years earlier.

So where are we now?

At the end of season two Piper (Taylor Schilling) had ratted on her former lover Alex (Laura Prepon). Vee (Lorraine Toussaint) had escaped from prison, only to be run over by another fugitive.

We can’t wait to see where season 3 is going to pick up from. So, cancel all your weekend plans, the OITNB race is on!

If you're missing your Frank Underwood fix as you wait for the new season of House of Cards to FINALLY start, we have just the thing for you.

Sesame Street have taken on Kevin Spacey's epic Netflix drama and turned it into a modern day fairytale – Frank UnderWolf and the Three Little Pigs.

Fans of House of Cards will love all the subtle (and not-so-subtle) nods to the show, and Frank's accent is totally on point!

This might go over kids' heads a bit, but adults will LOVE it.

House of Cards fans got a double whammy over the weekend! Not only did the show's lead actor Kevin Spacey win a Golden Globe last night for his role as Frank Underwood, we were also treated to a preview of the show's third season with some brand spanking new clips.

Frank and co. return to Netflix on February 27th and an official trailer for the new season was released yesterday.

"We're murderers, Francis…"

This is gonna be GOOD!

Somehow Netflix’s House of Cards left the Emmy Awards without an Emmy last night!

Proving that they are still good sports, the series shared a video they made especially for their loss, in which Doug Stamper (Michael Kelly) tries to find out what went wrong.

After all, it’s Doug and he always has a deal…right?!

House of Cards had 13 nominations this year including Best Drama Series, Best Actor in a Drama Series and Best Actress in a Drama Series.

You might not want to ignore this tweet by Barack Obama because he is the President of America, whic means he has the FBI on speed-dial. That’s all we’re sayin’!

The President took to his Twitter account to post a warning about spoilers for the upcoming House of Cards season, which he is obviously a fan of. The political drama stars Kevin Spacey as US representative, Frank Underwood.

It may come as no surprise that Obama follows the popular political drama given that it recognises so closely with his profession as president and politician.

Obviously concerned about potential spoilers for the show, Obama made use of his Twitter account, writing: “Tomorrow: @HouseOfCards. No spoilers, please.”
