While others were ringing in the New Year, some prankster was celebrating the legalisation of Marijuana in California.

Over the course of New Year’s Eve into New Year ’s Day, someone trespassed down to the iconic Hollywood sign and changed it to Hollyweed.

The law was passed to legalise recreational use of the drug on November 8.

A surveillance video is currently being checked to determine the identity of the man according to TMZ.

The man altered the sign using a tarp to change the O’s to E’s and inserted white boards to complete the change.

This is the second time the famous Hollywood sign has been was vandalized. The last time was January 1, 1976.
