You spend weeks preparing your killer festival attire: after all, there are accessories to consider, not to mention outfits for every imaginable weather scenario, as well as footwear, bags, and makeup to plan.

Then there's hair: very much the crowning glory of your fun and fabulous summer getup. In short, no matter how painfully-cool or bang-on trend your apparel is, your tresses still need to be tantalising.

And with everyone from Lily Allen to Rita Ora, and Katy Perry to Paloma Faith sporting bright and colourful strands, in particular rainbow-hair is going to be the key festival look of 2015.

But if you're unsure as to how to create Coachella-worthy styles, thankfully Great Lengths has done the hard-work for you.

Just follow the easy-peasy steps below, and make sure to watch the video at the end too:

Add a little volumising powder to make your hair easier to work with

Plait the hair on one side

It should begin to look like this

Hold your first plait in place with a clip and move on to the other side

Weave through strands from back of your head

Now bring your two plaits together from either side

Tie them both together at the back of your neck and secure with a clip

Fix any loose strands with clips – but don't worry about making it 'perfect'

Now back-comb to create a messy look

Ta-da! Perfect festival hair

We always look forward to the Oscars for some serious fashion and hair inspiration, but the problem is how to actually recreate those red carpet looks without the help of a million-dollar stylist!

Thankfully Great Lengths have stepped in with this handy tutorial showing you how to style your hair in a chic knotted bun like Rosamund Pike's gorgeous one from Sunday night's Academy Awards.

This is WAY easier than you might think, especially with the step by step instructions.

Now… to get our hands on that gorgeous Givenchy gown to complete the look!

A girl can dream, right?!
