Forget romance, men would rather travel for this
New research shows men will shun a Valentine getaway in favour of a football match – can’t say we’re surprised ,to be honest.
According to dealchecker.co.uk, trips to Madrid and Lyon increased between 8th and 21st February last year, but it had nothing to do with romance.
Unfortunately, treating loved ones was not the reason most men went to either of these places; it had more to do with the fact that Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspurs were playing there.
Thankfully, you don’t have to worry this February as there are no football matches clashing with the most romantic day of the year – your other half won’t have an excuse not to take you away now.
If you are one of the lucky ones you might end up in Salzburg, Barcelona or Valetta. While not traditionally romantic locations, they are currently the top three destinations for February 2014.
If someone decided to whisk us away to any of these, we would be more than willing to go… hint, hint.
