Commuter chaos: Six crashes in Dublin has traffic at a standstill

by

Commuters are struggling to get to work this morning as six crashes have occurred across the capital.

Motorists are advised to take "extreme care" while driving in the wet conditions today.

Debris on the M50 caused traffic to slow down southbound between J7 Lucan and J9 Red Cow.

Meanwhile, two crashes occurred on the M1, with the first taking place on the top of M1 southbound at J4 Donabate.

The second was "on the slip road onto M1 southbound at J3 Swords at bad bend," according to AA Roadwatch.

In the city centre, inbound traffic was stopped at the North King Street and Church Street junction, with the traffic provider warning drivers to take a different route.

Back to the M50 and just under an hour ago there was a collision in the right lane of the M50 southbound just before the Lucan turn-off at J7.

Then heading over to the Northside, there was a crash on the Clontarf Road inbound just before the Alfie Byrne Road junction, which is still causing delays in both directions.

Be careful out there, ladies.
