This Call the Midwife actor wed and we can’t handle the dress

She might play the quiet nun Sister Winifred but in real life, actor Victoria Yeates is as far away from her on-screen alter ego as you could imagine.

The 35-year-old, with her tumbling red hair and striking features is the epitome of bohemian cool – an her wedding pictures show.

Victoria exchanged vows with musician Paul Housden at a 13th century chateau in the Pyrenees.

As you do.

And of course, that meant a Call the Midwife cast reunion – there was stars like Jenny Agutter, Judy Parfitt, Helen George and Cliff Parisi.

Victoria said, ''Loads of the cast came and nipped over between filming. After the ceremony we all ate outside by this river on the grounds.''

She continued, ''It was quite hippy, simple and all very chilled out.''

The celebration came two years after she and Paul got engaged in South Africa, as cast filmed the 2016 Christmas episode.

The festive episode will see a new face – Miriam Margolyes or Sister Mildred.

Victoria said, ''You do pinch yourself when you look around and realise how many great people are on the show.''

Call the Midwife is on BBC1 at 7.45pm, Christmas Day and, call us old grannies, but we cannot WAIT to tune in.
