Harry Potter fans are going to be very excited with this latest revelation.

No, unfortunately it is not JK Rowling up to her usual social media lurking, this time it’s Daniel Radcliffe himself making some interesting announcements.

After making a name for himself as the most recognised wizard the world over, the actor has confessed that there is one project he feels would make his parents very proud.

The BBC One ballroom dancing competition, Strictly Come Dancing, is the one reality TV series that Daniel says could tempt him.

“I guess Strictly, because at least my mum and dad would be proud,” he told Radio Times. Dashing hopes everywhere though, he added quickly “That’s not an option!”

Never fear however, Daniel will be reappearing on the small screen soon as he joined BBC Two’s new drama The Gamechangers.

“It’s the story of the computer game Grand Theft Auto, which was a huge part of my life growing up,” he explained.

“I play Sam Houser, one of the guys who invented it. But I never had any idea about the detail of the trouble the guys got into, or even that it was such a British story.”

Since the ended of the Harry Potter films in 2011, Daniel has had a number of decidedly darker roles, he doesn’t seem to consider this a planned move. Instead he said he chooses his projects taking into consideration what experience they will provide.

“I choose scripts by asking: what is the experience that is going to make me most happy? I’m very lucky, but there’s no grand career plan.”

While on the topic of his formative years, Daniel said that The Simpsons were one of his things to watch. He confessed that whole travelling outside of the UK he misses one particular show dearly: Come Dine With Me.

“I watch a lot of it. It’s all down to the voiceover guy, Dave Lamb. Other versions in different countries just aren’t as good.”
