Following last week's events in Charlottesville, Virgina, the debate about America's Confederate statues has gained momentum.
With many right-thinkers of the belief that the statues should be removed, one man reckons he has found the perfect replacement for a Confederate monument in Portsmouth, Virginia.
Local resident, Nathan Coflin, has launched a Change.org campaign calling on the town's mayor to erect a statue of local hero, Missy Elliot.
“We believe it is time to finally replace the Confederate Monument in Olde Towne Portsmouth Virginia near the intersection of Court and High streets with a new statue of a true Portsmouth native hero,” he wrote.
“Who better to encapsulate the culture and spirit of the city enshrined in a new monument than Grammy Award winning rapper, dancer, and record producer Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott?”
The petition has garnered over 10,000 signatures so far and Twitter seem more than happy to get on board.

Protests for Confederate statues and monuments to be removed have spread throughout the country in the wake of the Charlottesville violence.
Earlier this week, four statues were removed over night in Baltimore and Maryland following a unanimous decision by the city's authorities with more towns likely to follow suit.
