We love a good gig here in Shemazing! HQ, but this one looks set to be the gig of the year – and it's for a brilliant cause.

Syria's Vibes, a non-profit campaign to raise much needed funds for Syrian medical supplies and children is launching a music event on the three floors of the Grand Social with live performances and top DJs set to take the stage at 8.00pm on October 7.

The event is hosted by Dubliner DJ Calvin James Sweeney, co-founder of The SCOOP Foundation (Supporting Children Out of Poverty) who has spent the last 6 months living and volunteering as a medical assistant in Syria.

The foundation aims to draw on the universally shared passion for music by hosting DJ events and asking musicians and the general public alike to hold their own events with the aim to generate as many donations as possible.

Acts set to perform next Friday are:

  • Interskalactic (9 piece ska / party band)
  • Contour (electronic)
  • Zaska (8 piece funk)
  • Dogs (electronica)
  • DJ Deece
  • Malibu Club
  • Calvin James
  • Charlie Garrett
  • Long Island Sound
  • AJ
  • Boots & Kats

If you fancy heading along to the gig, we have TWO VIP passes up for grabs over on our Facebook and Instagram page.

The prize includes attendance for two at the VIP pre dinner in the neighbouring Woollen Mills restaurant, 2 passes for the Syria’s Vibes event and a copy of the highly anticipated SCOOP Art cook book which provides recipes which combine passions of both food and art for a very worthy cause.

We'll be there. Will you?
