This news has made our day… but is it really true?

It's not every day a world famous celebrity touches down in Ireland, so we were chuffed to hear that not one but two stars were reportedly holidaying here at the moment.

Both George Clooney and David Beckham are believed to be in Co. Down today ahead of the Irish Open taking place in Newcastle this weekend.

Yes, you heard us right. George AND David. Together.

Nothing has been confirmed yet, but eagle-eyed fans have already been scoping out the area:

Earlier this month George revealed to TV3's Xposé that he hoped to visit Ireland soon, but that he had no firm plans yet.

"I said to someone, you know a reporter, that I’d love to come to Ireland, next thing I know I’m going to be there in a week. We’re going to try and get there this summer sometime," he said while promoting his new film Tomorrowland in London.

"I obviously want to go. I’ve family ties there and it’s something I hope to do later this year," he explained. "I’d like to wait till it gets a little warmer maybe."

A little warmer? He'll be waiting a while for that…

As for David, just last night he was at home reading bedtime stories with Harper Seven, so unless he got an early flight today it's hard to know if the rumours are indeed true.

We know where we'll be heading with our binoculars this weekend anyway!
