To be fair, if you're a fan of Twin Peaks, you're obviously made of stern stuff, so being introduced to a whole host of new characters isn't gong to rattle you exactly, but it might just raise your excitement levels when it comes to its revival.

Filming for the show, which has earned cult status at this stage, has officially come to an end and it looks like there are DOZENS of high-profile names set to join the show's cast.

Taking to social media yesterday, the show told viewers that a 'key' piece of the mystery would be revealed before sharing a list of the Hollywood heavy-hitters set to join the programme.

The incredibly lengthy list. which has been liked and shared thousands of times on Facebook, includes Amanda Seyfriend, Michael Cera, Naomi Watts and Jim Belushi to name but a few.

"The cameras have stopped rolling," read the post. "A key piece of the mystery is revealed. Welcome back to Twin Peaks."

With a host of new faces and almost all of the original cast making a highly-anticipated return, the Showtime series sounds like it's going to be an absolute corker.

Twin Peaks is set to hit our screens some time next year, with the release date still to be announced.
