The Back Home Tour will begin on August 8 in Lyrath Estate in Kilkenny.

But if you want a bit of Daniel action before next year, he's playing three dates in Dublin's Convention Centre next month – 9, 10 and 11 December – which will also be broadcast on RTÉ on Christmas Eve.

“Other years, it would have been a mixture of the regular songs with some Gospel and Christmas songs thrown in the mix, but this year, we have decided that we will go all out and make it a full Christmas show made up of entirely festive songs,” he said in a press release.

Tickets for Daniel's 2017 tour will go on sale December 3.

Hold onto your pants because you won't believe how much Daniel O'Donnell made in 2015.

In recent accounts lodged into the Companies Office, it shows that Daniel's firm DOD Promotions Ltd made nearly €3 MILLION in over 12 months.

Well, €2.86m to be exact, but when you have those sorts of profits, who's counting.

However, even though that's a huge sum of moola, it's actually down nearly €46,000 from 2014.

According to the Irish Mirror, most of the company's profits come from his touring company Brockwell Ltd.

As well as touring, Daniel also took part in his own TV3 show, Daniel and Majella’s B&B Roadtrip.

Not too shabby, eh?

If you saw the last season of Daniel and Majella's B&B Road Trip, then you'll know it was FULL of craic and laughter.

And after a very successful first series, RTÉ is bringing it back to our screens later this year. Hurrah!

The network is on the hunt for B&B owners who would like to welcome Daniel and Majella into their home this year to film some of the series.

Speaking about the show, RTÉ commissioner Ray McCarthy said: "We’re delighted to have Daniel and Majella on board at RTÉ One. We’re huge fans of both of them and it’s a great series highlighting Ireland's many unique and colourful tourism spots".

Now, many of the B&B owners reminded us of our good ol' Irish mammies, so it's safe to say we loved the show in it's entirety. But you NEED to watch this clip again because it was just the best:

And now this one – because it comes in a close second:

While there is a lot to talk about regarding the Late Late Shows' Valentine's Special, one standout moment was an audience members absolute disgust during one outrageous part of the show.

Yep, one woman really thought Daniel O' Donnel was making a surprise appearance to make all her Valentine's Day dreams come true and got understandably… well… very excited.

So of course when Daniel turned out to actually be Mario Rosenstock doing a pretty gas impression of the Irish crooner, this woman was not at all impressed.

In fact, she looked downright disgusted.

And while the audience members seemed to be having the time of their lives…

… all the rest of us could do was watch from our couches in sheer disbelief.

There ain't no party like a Daniel O'Donnell party, right?

Well, TG4 seem to think so as they are saying goodbye to 2015 in a New Year's Eve special show, and Daniel is the host.

The show which will air at 10.45pm on December 31, will see Daniel celebrate with a wide range of Irish stars including legendary singer, Brendan Shine.

Mr O'Donnell will take to the stage to sing with Brendan in front of a live audience in Newry Town Hall. Daniel will also sing some of his well known songs on the special show.

Also joining the lads is traditional singer Treasa Ní Cheannabháin. So it's set to be a good one!

It's official, Daniel O' Donnell has been announced to take part in the next series of Strictly Come Dancing.

The Irish musician has just been brought back to the public's attention with a performance on the Rose of Tralee which sparked somewhat of a debate on live radio when the presenter suggested that Daniel may not have been singing in tune.

But Daniel has distracted from all that fuss today with his big announcement that he will be one of the contestants on Strictly Come Dancing.

The singer was speaking on Steve Wright In The Afternoon on BBC Radio 2 earlier today when he said:

"Earlier this year, I decided to take a short break from touring and told myself that I would only consider doing something if it was both different and exciting."

"Well, what could be more exciting than Strictly Come Dancing? I love to dance and boy am I looking forward to getting started and being the best that I can be!"

We think the other celebs probably have quite a bit of competition on their hands as Daniel is no stranger to success.

He has sold 15 million albums in his career since shooting to fame in 1983 so it's fair to say he has the public's backing.

Daniel is the eighth celebrity so far confirmed for the dancing contest, alongside Peter Andre who was announced yesterday and Ready Steady Cook presenter Ainsley Harriott.

Also included in the line-up are an English weather presenter and a Coronation Street actress.

We wonder if anymore Irish will feature?
