On February 14, M.A.C. Cosmetics will pay homage to Max Fleischer’s feminist creation with an exclusive red lippy named after Betty.

The lipstick is a bright crimson shade, very similar to Ruby Woo, and seems perfectly fitting for this pin-up princess.

The product will be sold exclusively online, and we are expecting a total sell out!

84 years after her first appearance, Betty Boop is finally getting her first feature length film. Simon Cowell’s Syco Entertainment and Animal Logic are working together to bring Betty into the 21st Century.

Betty was the first and most famous animated sex symbols of her age. Created as a parody of flappers in general and singer Helen Kane in particular, Betty Boop was last seen in 1988 in the hit live action/animation crossover Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

She appeared as a waitress in an animated bar, mourning that how no one wanted to see black and white cartoons any more.

We don’t know what the movie is about yet but if Simon Cowell’s involved then clearly he thinks there’s money to be made. We can only hope some of the money goes on a script and not just on merchandising.

At the announcement of the new film, Simon Cowell said, "Betty is an icon, and one of the biggest stars in the world – I'm thrilled to be working with her. Betty, I've worked with some serious divas but I think you could be the biggest of them all!"

Betty Boop herself added "I'm so excited to return to the big screen – and I only work with the best! Let's have some fun, Simon. Boop-Oop-a-Doop!"
