The Hollywood Reporter has just released its Next Gen Talent 2017 list – and it features a very familiar face.

Irish actor, Barry Keoghan, earned himself a spot on the publication 'ones to watch list', following a hugely successful year which saw him star in the critically acclaimed Dunkirk and The Killing of a Sacred Deer.

The Dublin native appears on the prestigious, 20-strong list alongside other up-and-coming stars including, Stranger Things' Millie Bobbie Brown, Game of Thrones' Nathalie Emmanuel.

Speaking to the magazine, the 25-year-old revealed what inspired him to pursue a career in acting:

"I was like, 'I'll get paid? Sure, I can do this s***'," he joked.

The former Love/Hate star also admitted that he would love to get the opportunity to work alongside Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio, while his dream role would be Batman's sidekick, Robin.

So, what's next for this young Irish talent?

Well, 2018 looks like it's going to be a busy year with Barry set for the Irish period drama Black 47 and the crime feature American Animals, alongside Blake Jenner and Evan Peters.
