It takes some serious b*lls to snub Anna Wintour, but it looks like Gabriel Byrne has them if his recent comments are anything to go by.

The Irish actor, who is currently up for a Tony Award for his role in Long Day’s Journey Into Night, proved he's definitely of a certain generation and heritage when he decided to curse out Vogue's editor-in-chief.

We've watched The Devil Wears Prada enough times to know that snubbing a woman of Anna's calibre is an absolute no-go, but it looks like good ol' Gabriel never got the memo.

Upon hearing that the queen of fashion herself wanted to style the 66-year-old Dubliner for the upcoming award ceremony, Gabriel reportedly told The Financial Times: "I couldn’t give a f***. Stylist? Style myself, I say."

While admitting that being acknowledged by the industry is always welcome, the down-to-earth star of the Usual Suspects insists that we may have our priorities just a little messed up.

"It’s nice to be called up to the front of the class but we make way too much of awards," he said before adding. "When are plumbers going to be recognised for what they do?"

Something tells us Ms. Wintour isn't going to make a second offer.
