Jude Law has stepped in to replace Irish actor Michael Fassbender in his upcoming movie Genius.

The Sherlock Holmes actor will star opposite Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman in the movie, which is based on A. Scott Berg’s biography of editor Max Perkins.

Perkins worked with literary great Thomas Wolfe on a number of his books, and the pair developed a complex friendship which changed their lives forever. Intriguing!

Law will play the celebrated writer, while Firth will star as his editor Perkins. Kidman’s role is yet to be revealed.

Director Michael Grandage is planning to begin pre-production in August and the film will start shooting in October.

The project was first announced in 2012 as Max Perkins: Editor Of Genius and Shame star Fassbender was picked for the role.

But now it seems the Irish actor’s busy work schedule means that Law will fill the role instead.

Win-win, we think!
