Jamie Dornan and Cillian Murphy on the one couch? Uh…yes PLEASE

He might be one of the hottest men to grace our screens in recent years, but that doesn't mean Northern Irish actor Jamie Dornan has let fame go to his head.

In a new interview with Ryan Tubridy which will air as part of tomorrow night's Late Late line-up, the County Down native admitted that fame is one aspect of his work which doesn't appeal to him.

Sitting next to his Anthropoid co-star Cillian Murphy, Jamie explained: “The fame aspect that comes with being a working actor does not intrigue me in the slightest.”

“I think something like being Irish helps, and my friends.  There’s just no allowance for it.”

The Marie Antoinette star revealed how the value he places on his family and friends allows him to stay grounded.

He said: “In your life, no matter what happens or how much notoriety you gain through your work, the fundamentals of your life don’t change…Your wife, your kids, your family and your friends, all that stuff, the stuff that makes you, doesn’t change.”

“On nights like this when you go to a premiere and it all seems crazy, it’s all very heightened but every day is totally normal.  It’s just a job, you go to work and do your job and then that’s it,” he continued.

Surprisingly the 34-year-old father of two also admitted that despite his lead role in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, few of his friends have actually seen the flick.

He said: “I’m just thinking about some of my mates here and I would never want to go to see them in that movie!  It would be no different.”

“Why would they want to see me like that?” he asked.  “None of them have seen it.  I think a couple came to the premiere in London actually but with wives and girlfriends.”

As well as Jamie and Cillian, tomorrow night’s Late Late Show will also feature comedian Al Porter and Olympians Michael Conlan, Annalise Murphy and Gary and Paul O’Donovan.

The Late Late Show airs this Friday at 9.35pm on RTÉ One
