Helen Mirren looks stunning the Tony Awards Red Carpet

Helen Mirren caught everyone’s attention last night as she stepped on to the red carpet of the Tony Awards.

The 69-year-old wore a white embellished floor length gown with flowing sheer sleeves as she attended the awards ceremony which took place in New York’s Radio City Music Hall.

She was nominated for best actress for playing the Queen in Broadway transfer of The Audience. This role has already seen her win an Oliver Award for the London production, and an Oscar for portraying the Queen on the big screen.

It was a night to celebrate for Helen as she won the prize for her role as Queen Elizabeth II and looked amazing while collecting her award.

Dame Helen, posed for snappers on the red carpet in New York last night with her husband by her side and warded off competition from Mad Men star Elisabeth Moss and Geneva Carr who had also been nominated.

The actress and her husband, playfully showed their affection for each other on the red carpet and have been married for 20 years.

Her glitzy earrings and bag added to the overall elegance of this flawless attire as Helen took to the stage to accept her award from the gorgeous Bradley Cooper.

British actors and plays dominated this year's Tony's, known as America's top honour for work in theatre.
