Hearts go out to singer Charlotte Church after she loses her baby

Our hearts are going out to singer Charlotte Church this morning, with the announcement that she has lost her baby, just a month after revealing her pregnancy.

A representative for the 31-year-old took to her social media channels to share the upsetting news.

"Charlotte and Jonny [Powell] are very sad to announce that they lost their baby. Now is a time for grieving and being together as a family," the first of two tweets read.

"We kindly ask everyone to respect that peace."

The news was met with a wave of supportive messages from the singer's fans, who sent on their love to the star.

"So sorry, Charlotte. Holding you and Jonny and your whole family in the light," wrote one follower, echoing the sentiments of all who have heard the news.

"Oh no. I'm so sorry, Charlotte and Jonny. Sending all my love to you both. Stay strong in your family's loving embrace," added a friend.

Charlotte is mum to nine-year-old daughter Ruby, and eight-year-old son Dexter; her children with ex-fiancé Gavin Henson.

The Welsh singer had revealed her third pregnancy last month, during a performance at a Gay Pride event at Birmingham Pride.

Charlotte and musician Jonathan have been dating for around seven years.

Charlotte and her family are in our thoughts today.
