Geri Halliwell looked simply perfect on her big day

It was wedding bells for Geri Halliwell today, as the former Spice Girl married her sweetheart Christian Horner in a summer ceremony in Bedfordshire, England.

Geri looked every bit the perfect bride in a gorgeous couture lace gown with a full skirt and a nipped-in waist, accessorising the princess-style dress with gold Prada stilettos and vintage pearl earrings.

Geri and Christian said "I do" at St. Mary's Church, surrounded by family and friends including Myleene Klass, Amanda Holden, Jennifer Saunders and Geri's fellow Spice Girls Emma Bunton and Mel B.

Victoria Beckham and Mel C were unable to attend due to other commitments, though Victoria did share this sweet throwback picture in honour of the big day:

Geri herself tweeted her excitement before the ceremony, simply posting a smiling emoji that said it all:

The singer shared some of this morning's wedding preparation with her followers, taking to Instagram to post pictures of her something old (her vintage earrings), new (her lace dress), borrowed (a diamond necklace) and blue (a sky-blue ribbon in honour of her daughter Bluebell).

So sweet.

The big day was not without its drama though, with the groom's parents choosing not to attend the ceremony, something many believe was a show of their disapproval for the marriage. Christian left his girlfriend Beverley Allen for Geri in March 2014, just six months after the former couple became parents to a daughter, Olivia.

We hope that Geri and Christian enjoyed their big day all the same…

Congrats to the newlyweds!
