Elle in trouble after cover controversy

Elle magazine have landed themselves in hot water this week after the release of their “Women in TV” special edition. Each edition features a different female face from TV, including Girls star Alison Williams, Parks and Recreation‘s Amy Poehler, The Mindy Project‘s Mindy Kaling and New Girl, Zooey Deschanel.

It seems that many people have taken offence to the fact that Mindy’s cover is the only one of the four that is not full length and is the only one that is in black and white, leading people to call Elle “fat-ists”.

Whilst many people seem to think that Elle had intentionally hidden Mindy’s body from the shot, it would seem both the magazine and Mindy herself, disagree.

Speaking to E! online, Elle called their cover “sexy, beautiful and chic” and Mindy took to twitter to voice her own opinion on the matter; “I love my @ELLEmagazine cover. It made me feel glamorous & cool”.
