When Star Wars decided to return, it came back with a bang.

After The Force Awakens came out last year, fans have been waiting eagerly for the next instalment, Rouge One.

But, with the latest Disney news, we think they might be going a step too far.

Now, don't get us wrong, the new movie's special effects were out of this world, but it's now been confirmed that the film will be hitting us until "2021 and beyond."

So, basically, nearly every single year for the next five years, we'll be seeing some Jedis pop up on our movie screens.

Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed his plans to Comic Book Movie, saying: "I had a meeting yesterday with Kathy Kennedy [producer] and we mapped out – well, we reviewed – the Star Wars plans that we have until 2020.

"We have movies in development for Star Wars until then, and we started talking about what we're going to do in 2021 and beyond."

With Rogue One due out next year, an untitled Han Solo film due in 2018 and Star Wars: Episode IX coming in 2019, we're going to be filled to the brim with light sabers for a while.
